Oh, the drama….

I often find it so frustrating that girls are so emotional. I mean, is it just my girls that are like this? It isn’t like any of our routine has changed in the past year or so. Everyday it is the same thing; tears about chores, tears about picking out clothes, tears about this , and tears about that. It makes me want to cry just listening to it. all in all, though it just reminds me that I have three beautiful daughters and I am fortunate to be a part of their lives and they a part of mine.

: Caroline

Caroline is usually pretty good with helping out her younger sisters. Just the other day, my wife went to the grocery store by herself, more for therapy than anything else, and Caroline took it upon herself to teach Claire how to use the computer. Claire, age 3, has been wanting to learn how to play games online like her sister. By online I mean www.pbskids.org, www.webkinz.com, and the like. She is pretty PC fluent for her age.

The drama with Caroline usually has to do with her clothes. She always loves the clothes in the store but when she has to wear them for the first time, they never fit right, they shrank, or they itch. Wait…how is this different from a grown woman? LOL. She usually gives in after a minute or so but let me tell you, that is one looooong minute!

Claire

With Claire, many of the tears happen when it is time to get dressed and make her bed. Her immediate response when asked to get ready is, “I can’t do it by myself” and the tears start flowing. I’m not quite sure why. We do the same thing everyday but nonetheless it gets the same response. After a little time she is able to compose herself and actually put her clothes on and make her bed. Then she comes downstairs so proud of herself that she actually did everything on her own. It is quite funny at this point in the morning. She really does try hard and more times than not she just wants to be your best friend and do whatever you are doing. She does not like to be alone…ever.

With Catelyn, well what can I say? She’s not even 1 yet so her drama occurs when she is tired or hungry…usually hungry. Lately, she has started dancing to music, specifically the theme song to Dora the Explorer. Oh, and whenever someone says, “say what?”, she stops what she is doing and sits down or lays down depending on where she is. It’s hysterical and I don’t know why she does it.

Back to School

So it begins…another academic year. Caroline returned to school on Tuesday while Claire and Catelyn will go back next week. Here’s hoping that Caroline will really enjoy her new school. From my perspective it will be a much better situation that the public school system in our neighborhood. Fortunately, she likes the uniforms as much as I do so that really helps too. It was quite funny…the first day of school, she comes downstairs fully dressed in her uniform with her hair all done and her teeth brushed. This is definitely not the norm. Then this morning, on day 2 of school, she stumbles down the stairs in her jammies and mumbles something about being tired. LOL. I guess the nostalgia of new things has worn off.
